Houston Attorney Mark Thiessen Given Super Lawyers Award Honor
Criminal Defense Attorney Mark Thiessen Becomes One of the Youngest Attorneys to Win the Thomson Reuters Award
(September 9, 2013) Attorney Mark Thiessen of Thiessen Law Firm, LLC has become one of the youngest
lawyers to ever receive Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers award. Typically awarded to legal professionals over
the age of 40 or in practice for more than 10 years, the award is a result of Thiessen’s victories as well as peer
recommendations.
Super Lawyers employs an intensive process to select its honorees. Blending rigorously-monitored peer
nominations and third-party research on each candidate’s credentials, the patented approach analyzes a total of
12 different factors before making a final decision. Awards are handed out annually and on a state-by-state
basis. The award covers more than 70 practice areas and no more than five percent of a state’s attorneys are
named Super Lawyers, making it one of the most competitive and significant achievements in the industry.
Mark Thiessen is a criminal trial lawyer who founded Thiessen Law Firm in Houston, Texas in 2011. He is a
frequent legal seminar lecturer, author of numerous published legal articles, and the current DWI Committee
chair for Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA), in addition to numerous other accomplishments. Mark has won DWI cases from total refusals up to a 0.24 breath test, 0.23 GC blood test and a 0.28 hospital enzymatic assay blood test.
